I have always loved dual-time narratives, but most times it is always the past that holds my interest rather than the story in the present, but Rebecca Aleander’s writing is such that both timelines are utterly captivating. The small surface area loses very little water and some plants will roll their leaves inwards, reducing their surface even more.

So, while I adore over-the-top erotic romances about women orgasming three times per minute, I’m not averse to a dose of reality every now and then. The people of this small island that are suspicious at first and then welcoming of Ellie give the novel so much warmth that you want to spend your time with them. Large conservatory/garden room : open, decorative bookcase, 2 sofas, door to the fenced outdoor patio dining area.At one point the pages were turning that quickly that it was almost as if they were themselves and the page numbers became a blur. Intrigued by photos she finds hidden in her house, she comes to suspect that she might have quite a bit in common with Stella too. But one of her first priorities has to be having a run built in the overgrown garden for Brack the fox – his pungent aroma isn’t helping make the cottage feel like home – and that brings handywoman Jill into her life. A sequel comes out next April, and the books follow the work of an archaeologist trying to solve crimes in the past. Jane Lovering has a wonderful writing style, and I really enjoyed the touches of comedy straight away in Tamzin’s chapter.Have you ever had a few moments to yourself watching the clouds or sitting near a river bank and watching the flow of water or just counting stars in the night sky? And can I just say that it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the author herself happened to have a pet fox! In a quest to find justice for a community and a culture that is often hated and ridiculed they are placed in grave danger but are determined to fight for what they believe to be right. This is a slight dual-perspective book where we start in 1973 with Stella and then flick to the current day, we then spend the majority of the time in the present day with the occasional flick back to the past.

Potentially a good book, but I found it very muddling as it chopped and changed decades with the chapters.
