The photographs are properly marked SAFE or RESTRICTED (18+ only / nudity). There IS NO porn nor stolen photos ! One of the most widely recognized forms of bizarre torture, thanks in part to the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious, rat torture is thought to be an ancient Chinese technique. Below, however, we'll describe a particular form of rat torture developed by Diederik Sonoy, a leader during the Dutch revolt of the 16th century. In Medieval Holland it is said that rats would be put into a bowl that was attached face down to the stomach of the prisoner. The bowl would then be heated up to force the rats to eat into the bowels of the victim in an attempt to escape. A similar method was to cut slits into the victim’s belly in which rats were put and would gnaw into the flesh. So you think your mother-in-law is torturous? Or your boss with the lame sense of humor? Get a load of the following nine insane torture techniques used in different parts of the world to kill, dismember, or otherwise cause inordinate amounts of pain. We promise: you'll never use the word torturous the same way again. 1. Chinese Bamboo Torture The Spanish Inquisition was known for its many torture devices, and the Judas Cradle was one of the most painful. Also known as the Judas chair, victims usually died of infection, as the seat was never cleaned between uses.

For thousands of years, crushing by elephant was a commonly practiced form of torture in Southeast Asia and India. Given the animals' sheer weight, intelligence and susceptibility to training (as we know from the circus), elephants were an obvious choice. As its name suggests the chair of torture is a chair that has been liberally upholstered with spikes. Also known as the Judas or Iron chair these elaborate devices could have as many as 1,500 spikes. Looking at the above chair it could well be the deluxe model.

2. Rat Torture

My wife and I periodically play tie up games. She isn't interested in being tied up so she ties me up which is fine with me, and fun. Apparently there was another use for the maiden. In some designs the blades would not pierce the prisoner’s skin even after the doors were shut tight. They also wouldn’t allow them to move an inch in any direction. The sharp edges would be there waiting for you, not allowing even the briefest rest whilst an interrogator screamed questions at you and then left you unable to move a muscle. 2. Rat Torture Eeeek!

A very erotic piece of furniture. The cross is removable for easy storage. Stainless steel fittings and leather leg straps are included in the final price. Don’t be fooled by the wonderfully decorative design of the “agonising pear”. As you can see it is roughly pear shaped but that is where any similarity with the fruit ends. It was a favoured form of punishment for women who’d had abortions, homosexuals, blasphemers and liars. Any ideas yet where this is going? Generally, between the spikes and the knives, victims would bleed to death after said confession, or sometimes before.

3. Iron Maiden

Everyone was asked and they consented to be photographed and posted The word scaphism comes from the Greek word skaphe, meaning scooped or hollowed. An ancient Persian method of torture, wherein the victim was eaten alive by bugs, scaphism was also known as "the boats" for reasons you'll understand momentarily. The design of the bull's head was such that the victim's screams were made to sound like the bull roaring.

In an attempt to escape from the hot bowls, the rats would gnaw their way through the victim's flesh. 7. Judas Cradle The short spikes welded into the chamber weren't long enough to kill anyone, but did plenty of damage and inflicted enough pain that an interrogator on the outside was usually able to get a confession. Amongst the most cheap and cheerful forms of torture is rat torture. They are free and there is a practically unlimited supply – ideal for cash-strapped sadistic despots. Despite looking fairly inoffensive this little device is not only great for toasting marshmallows but is all you need to get a confession out of the toughest of heretics, sinners and blasphemers. It’s actually quite ingenious and ever so compact. The other variant, known as sqaussation, involved the victim being suspended by their wrists and having more and more weights hung from them. As you can see in the picture above they’re mixing it right up. 8. Crushing Selection of crushing torture devicesNice little story, and your wife seems great (save from the falling asleep part.) So now she knows you can handle being tied for so long, maybe it is time for a new standard The bamboo pierced through the victim's skin and continued to grow through his abdomen, ultimately causing one of the most painful deaths ever inflicted. Even before the invention of the vise crushing the various appendages was a popular form of torture. The earliest methods would see the victim sandwiched between a pair of boards and more and more weight piled on top. If they didn’t confess or spill the beans then they would end up being crushed to death. If they did, they would also probably end up being crushed to death.

Rat torture was apparently used as recently as the 1980s in Pinochet’s Chile and in neighbouring Argentina. 1. Judas Cradle The Spanish Inquisition giving the Judas Cradle a whirl Another engineering masterpiece from the Spanish Inquisition was the Judas cradle. As you can see above the victim would be suspended in a harness above a wooden pyramid. You can probably figure out where the sharp end of that big wooden triangle is going. For ladies it was different, but equally painful I’m sure. By the end of the Medieval period torture had become a fine art. Even with all our technology and medical knowledge there wouldn’t be much chance of coming up with any more terrifying torture instruments than this lot. Yes, now-a-days we could probably develop more effective ways of getting information out of people, but that doesn’t seem to have been the point of half these. For the record the main users of these forms of torture were the various churches of the day in the name of Christianity. Anyone wearing the heretic’s fork is unable to fall asleep – the moment they did the prongs would pierce the skin causing more than enough pain to wake them up. After a few days of this torture they would be so sleep deprived that they’d confess to anything.

7. Barrel Pillory

I’m writing to you today because I still think about it all the time and I joined Recon to talk to see if someone would want to tie me up. One of the guys recommended I listen to you. In a video about kink discordance you said kink is sexual. So my question for you is this: Is my desire to be tied up sexual? If so, would be getting tied by anybody other than my wife be a sexual experience?" As the torture session proceeded the victim would be lowered further onto the pyramid. This would stretch to orifice to breaking point, at which point the muscles would tear. The torturers could control the degree of pain by oiling up the pyramid and/or dropping the victim onto it repeatedly. The process could be short or it could continue for days with the victim being left suspended overnight. Like bamboo torture, the Iron Maiden is sometimes thought to be fictional. But this torture technique, using an upright sarcophagus with spikes on the inner surfaces, definitely existed. Invented in the late 18th century, this is the device that the metal band Iron Maiden took their name from.
