During my testing, I hit three 3-iron shots, and three 100 yard wedge shots with both the Pro V1x and the Vice Pro Plus golf balls. MGS testing showed me that I should try more medium firmness balls like the Bridgestone BXS or the Pro V1. I now use the BXS and find it does better than the “X” balls without the hurt.. It flies higher for me than the Pro V1 and has an impressive ability to hold the greens. I’m especially thankful for adding the mid-swing speeds. Very few players can consistently swing 115mph, not swing 85 mphs. So the old previous study required a lot of ‘blending’. My long game testing started with the irons. All my previous testing has shown me that in this area, the differences between golf balls can get quite slim. That’s what I saw with the Vice Pro and Pro Plus, also. Both balls performed very similarly to the average Tour ball with short and mid irons. Again, the consistency of both Vice balls was impressive. Durability In our first test, we had two models scuff severely during the wedge portion of our test. This year, we didn’t note any significant durability issues, nothing more than a modest paint scuff.

At any rate, without knowing more about the sample sizes, just looking at what you reorted I would gues they are around ten, and the standard deviation of each sample, it is hard to place any signifucant cintext around the differences in averages between various balls. I did some pretty extensive testing with the two golf balls, and based on each category that I was looking for, I honestly couldn’t tell much of a difference between the two golf balls and in my opinion, the premium price of the Pro V1x did not show in the performance comparison. Vice Pro Plus vs ProV1x: Feel ComparisonIts cast urethane cover and additional ionomer mantle layer contribute to higher initial ball speed, increased distance, and enhanced durability. VICE offers the Pro Plus in three colors – white, Neon Red, and Neon Lime. The Pro is offered in those three colors plus Shade (grey) and unique Drip patterns. Conversely, the Vice Pro Plus is a four-piece golf ball. Also, it utilizes a cast urethane cover and boasts an additional ionomer mantle layer.

The lower-compression, low-spinning Titleist Tour Speed was surprisingly long as were other low-compression balls like the Bridgestone Tour B RX and Callaway Chrome Soft. While ball manufacturers often differentiate between driver and iron/wedge spin, the reality is that, if a ball spins of a driver, it’s going to spin off irons and full (and even partial) wedge shots, too.So now that you know how Ifeel about it. Let’s get a scratch golfer’s take on it. Take it away, Zach! Vice Pro Plus or Titlest ProV1x: Which is ActuallyBetter?
