Support IPSec IKE v1 and IKE v2, and you can use the Windows 10 native VPN client program to connect to the router's IPSec VPN server. The Windows 10 new FAQ is in https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1033576 We have torrents running, xboxs via ethernet, wifi 6 phones, wifi 5 laptops, wifi 6 desktops, old 2.4 ghz smart devices and printers. A mish mash of about 20 devices and this router delivers top tier performance every time. In your expert opinion, would the RT-AX92U be better than the RT-AC86U? Is it worth the extra cost? I don’t mind spending a little more if it will future-proof my setup. The firmware updates should be installed on the entire system at once, not on each station individually

Primary Broadband : FibreNet (RJ45-Ehternet output directly available from ISP) – Practically Unlimited Data. My Canon E480 wifi printer disconnected to any of the AX92U units after 1 week problem free usage. I had hard reset the printer, it just won’t connect. It manages to locate the SSID, asking whether to connect to one router or multiple routers, and I tried both, it just won’t connect. I tried another wifi printer, Canon E460, same issue. Whilst most people would prefer to only have one SSID for a clean look having the 2 bands really helps with congestion. It’s non existent on our network with no buffer bloat. On the inside, the RT-AX92U is a tri-band router with non-conventional specs. It’s a broadcaster with a 2×2 Wi-Fi 5 band, a 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 5GHz band, and a 2×2 Wi-Fi 4 2.4GHz band, Clients who connect to the guest network can be viewed in the network map -->view list --> interface I'm suggesting that what you think is "obvious" isn't obvious to everyone. And to say that, actually, it comes across as a bit condescending.

Just to say that if anyone else tests their other usb drives on one of their RT-AX92U routers, but then finds that the gui hangs on the current firmware when they attempt to disable samba or dlna from the gui, then there is a workaround I found via google where you can disable it over ssh:- Fixed envrams exposed issue. The range should ideally be 1,000 sq ft for the garage (network1), and 2,500 sq ft around the cabin (network2).

Please note: Canadian 🇨🇦 ISP provides gigabit internet; all major devices are currently Wi-Fi 5 (TV, Macs, iPhones, iPads); I will be renovating my new house in the coming months and will make heavy use of HomeKit-based SmartHome devices (switches, lights, sensors, etc.), hence I decided to go with a Wi-Fi 6 router to make my upgrade more future-proof. In case you’re wondering, I bought the 88u initially but couldn’t get full coverage in my house so then bought the 92u routers which came as a pair (only really needed this bundle). If you have used just one unit as a single router and now want to expand the coverage, here’s the best way to go about that: When using it as a single router, you can lump all these bands together using Smart Connect or name each with a separate SSID (Wi-Fi network).I understand that – when I was referring to speed I wasn’t talking about internet speed tests, I was talking about the speed and signal quality reported via the Network Connections Status info from Windows 10 (and on the equivalent from the phone). My fault for not being clear what I was reporting I’m thinking about pairing two ASUS WiFi 6 routers via Ethernet, and part away from the Ubiquiti NanoStation setup. Now I’m looking specifically for performance only, so basically max speeds, bandwidth and range. Not too concerned about the features outside of that, as I’m only looking at this router thanks to its tri-band support and the fact I have quite a few 5ghz compatible products, as well as Quest 2 I plan to use with Airlink. Hopefully what I’m asking makes sense. Reply Install/Update ASUS Router App (Android supports later than 1.0.0.5.44; iOS supports later than 1.0.0.5.41) I would only be able to get to the satellite is via the switch… will that work? So, it would be Router –> Switch –> Satellite … it will take a bit of work as I would have to pull some new cable.
