Description

The brand's goal is to provide women with the opportunity to combat common signs of ageing, such as tired skin, sagging eyelids and less defined contours, without leaving their own homes or paying a lot of money to visit skincare specialists. Each toning device stimulates the creation of elastin and collagen, minimising wrinkles, lifting facial contours and leaving skin looking more radiant.

Harnessing microcurrent technology, the hottest innovation in the anti-ageing industry, NuFACE Mini Facial Toning Device is perfect for those seeking to lift jowls, contour jawlines, reduce folds and wrinkles, and smooth complexion.

Will it stop me from thinking about Botox every time I look at my forehead? Meh, probably not or at least not completely. “It does not replace injectables, such as neuromodulators or fillers, or excellent skincare, but it can enhance one’s appearance, especially for a night out,” Dr. Evans says. How long does it take to see results with NuFace? A few nights into my routine, I was able to snag a NuFace tutorial from esthetician and NuFace cofounder Tera Peterson, who did the treatment along with me over Zoom. First, she instructed me to apply the gel primer to one area at a time (as I enthusiastically slathered it onto my whole face on the other side of screen). The gel primer is necessary for the treatment, as it transfers the microcurrents from the NuFace to your face. “Polymers are needed to direct the current directly to the muscles,” she said. “Just because it looks like aloe vera does not mean aloe vera is going to conduct your microcurrent.”

This was my main issue at first. I couldn’t feel anything much as all, so I wrongly assumed that it was either broken or just not very powerful. The thing is, you shouldn’t feel much. If you try using it without any conductor, you will feel the pain believe me! I must say that I do notice my muscles have been worked when I have finished and am in the bath. I’m not sure if worked is the right word, but I feel it’s done it’s job. If you're new to microcurrent therapy (welcome!), the NuFace Mini is the perfect starter tool for you (it's the one the one that I tried for this article, too). A travel version of the NuFace Trinity (the older sibling, if you will), the NuFace Mini is smaller, cheaper, and simpler but still uses the same microcurrent technology. More than just a facial massager, this tool actually sends out electrical current into your skin and muscles to give the face a more sculpted, tighter appearance. Along with the device, you also get a 2 oz. bottle of Hydrating Leave-On Gel Primer to use with it. No code necessary to receive 50% OFF qualifying NuFACE FIX®️ Starter Kit. Discount automatically applied; prices as marked. Offer valid 11/24/23-11/27/23 or while supplies last. Offer

Step 1: Prep! Cleanse the face with an oil-free cleanser, removing any makeup oils and impurities and apply the NuFACE gel primer to the left cheek area. Apply the gel in a mask like layer so that the skin appears wet. Press the on/off button to power the device on. Press the intensity control button until you reach the maximum level. Intensity can be adjusted for comfort at any time.

For me, it’s all about the lift and the smile line area. So I concentrate on that. I find that holding on the muscle that you are trying to improve (tone) until it beeps three times and then moving on to the next, makes all of the difference. The great thing is that the NuFace is not painful. I use mine with Aloe Vera gel rather than a standard conductor gel and that works just as well. I Can’t Feel the NuFace Doing Anything – Is it Broken? There’s a visible difference immediately afterward. After doing half my face with Peterson’s guidance, I could see my brow looked more lifted and my cheek less puffy. I have more definition along my cheekbones and jawline too. But what has really impressed me is that after 10 or so days of consistent use, my nasolabial folds look less noticeable. Activate + Lift: Brush a mask-like layer of your favorite NuFACE Microcurrent Activator in sections as you lift. Perform glides/holds using your Mini+ Device. NuFace was founded in 2005 by Carol Cole and her two daughters, Tera Peterson and Kim Morales. They are responsible for pioneering the microcurrent beauty technology discovered by Cole in the 1980s during her career as an aesthetician. Achieve a salon-similar complexion with innovative, at-home microcurrent technology. Traditionally offered at clinics and spas around the world, microcurrent facials give your facial muscles a workout to sculpt and define your features. Channelling this youth-boosting tech into their state-of-the-art devices, now we can enjoy the luxury (and incredible results) of microcurrent from the comfort of our homes. Either! What's most important is that you're using it, no matter what time it is (just make sure you wait 24 hours between each session). “Just like sit-ups or crunches, if you want this look to be last, you have to keep doing it,” says Dr. Evans. “It does not have long-term or cumulative results on its own without repeated application.” That said, John Diaz, MD, plastic surgeon and cofounder of Honor MD, previously told Cosmo that these devices may be helpful as part of a combination of treatments, and Corey Hartman, MD, board-certified dermatologist and founder of Skin Wellness, agrees. “I like to recommend them to patients as an adjunct treatment to things they do in the office,” Dr. Hartman says. For instance, if you receive a radiofrequency microneedling treatment (a tried and true method of stimulating collagen and elastin) once a year, you can maintain that improvement at home with a microcurrent device. I tried using my NuFace both morning and night and personally prefer to use it in the morning because 1) my nighttime routine is already way too long 2) it's a nice way to wake up in the morning and get rid of a sleepy, puffy face. Here's what my morning routine looks like: I cleanse first, then apply the NuFACE Protect and Tighten Super Antioxidant Booster Serum. Once that's soaked in, I apply the gel and get to work with the NuFace Mini. I then rub the leftover gel into my skin and finish with my moisturizer and sunscreen. Can I use NuFace without gel?Step 3: Finish! Power off the Trinity toning device and place on the charging cradle after every skincare treatment. Remove the gel primer with a damp cloth and apply your favourite NuFACE serum or continue with your normal skin care routine. Use five minutes a day, five times a week for the first 60 days. After 60 days, use two to three times a week to maintain the results. Treat skin to a five-minute facial lift with NuFACE Mini Facial Toning Device, a portable skincare solution that delicately but effectively stimulates larger surface areas of the face to improve the appearance and suppleness of skin. I wish I could say that all you have to do is use this device for a few weeks and you'll never age a day again, but that would be a lie. To see any kind of results, the brand recommends you use it at least five days a week for 60 days, and then to maintain those results, you'll have to continue using it two to three times a week. And just like anything else in skincare, consistency is *key.* Should you use NuFace in the morning or at night? Why have I changed my opinion? I love my Rio 60 Second. It’s awesome, but I have recently had a new veneer fitted and using it on my cheek area and smile lines was giving me severe tooth sensitivity. Anyone who owns a Rio will understand how uncomfortable it can be in this area if you have it on a reasonable high setting, and I do. As far as the science goes, microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive treatment that sends weak electrical signals into the body and stimulates the muscles under the skin, which in turn gives the skin a lifted appearance. “Just like injectable chemical neuromodulators smooth the overlying skin (think of the forehead after Botox), a device like this can help to smooth wrinkles,” explains Tracy Evans, MD, board-certified dermatologist and medical director of Pacific Skin and Cosmetic Dermatology. As far as improving collagen and elastic, Dr. Evans points out that more evidence is needed to say for sure. “While claims have been made that these devices stimulate collagen production and cellular regeneration in the skin, this remains to be determined by true placebo controlled clinical trials,” Dr. Evans notes.
