Description

With its ESS SABRE DAC chip, XMOS XU208 USB chip, and Qualcomm QCC3031 Bluetooth 5.0 chip, the MX5 accepts input connections from a variety of audio sources, including computers, set-top boxes, CD players, mobile phones, and more. It achieves a 70Wx2 output power rating at 4Ω of load (THD+N 10%). At high-quality THD+N 1%, the MX5 outputs up to 55Wx2 clean power (4Ω). At 8Ω load, the Topping MX5 outputs up to 42Wx2 (10% THD+N), and 35Wx2 (1% THD+N). Topping has announced its latest desktop all-in-one DAC/Headphone AMP/Power AMP, the Topping MX5. MX5 is a successor to the widely-acclaimed Topping MX3. It features a premium ESS Sabre DAC chip paired with an XMOS USB processor and a high-performance Qualcomm QCC Bluetooth chip for high-resolution audio signal decoding and wireless Bluetooth input support. Topping has featured NFCA Headphone Amp circuit on the MX5 providing up to 1.6W of output power at 32Ω of load. They have also equipped the MX5 with Infineon Merus Class D Power Amplifier chipset delivering 70W of clean output power for your speakers at 4Ω of load and 10% THD+N, even at high-quality THD+N 1% it outputs 55W of clean power. The only problem I have noticed is that the amp gives out *lots* of RFI over the speaker cables whenever they are in use. No problem when in headphone only mode. Surprisingly the big power supply seems OK. I am a ham radio operator and I could see so much RFI on 40m and 20m that I could actually hear the song being played in AM mode. Some hefty torriods on both speaker cables fixed that mostly. The carrier is still there but the modulation is all but gone so if I want serious DX I need the turn the amp off - or get more torroids.

MX5 provides two custom setting memories, C1 and C2. Long press can memorize the current input selection, output selection, volume setting, bass setting, treble setting, and gain setting. And short press to call out in subsequent applications. It greatly facilitates your use. However I'm a bit confused when you're talking about the speaker outputs. What exactly are you trying to connect to? If it's active speakers or other amplifiers, then the EX5 would make more sense, since it has the pre-amp RCA output (although EX5 doesn't have RCA source inputs like the MX5 has, if that's a consideration). In the past I've used normal speaker terminals such as what the MX5 has to pass a line-level signal to a subwoofer via an adapter, but that was when I had normal speakers cables connected at the same time. I don't think it'd work on its own without an actual speaker load, but I could be wrong. In any case simultaneous connection with passive speakers doesn't sound like what you're trying to achieve. The EX5 is normally higher price than the MX5. If you can have them at the same price, the EX5 would probably be the safer bet due to the noise issues and such many are having with the MX5. Otherwise sound quality should be great with both. The limited kind of tone controls stereo amps have never appealed to me, but that's of course subjective. The MX5 has the NFCA circuit optimized for this unit, giving the ultra low noise and distortion. It pairs with high sensitivity IEMs and power hungry high impedance headphones nicely. The built-in headphone amp allows you to enjoy music by yourself without disturbing others. Un ampli discret , de bon design mais efficace. S'il est aussi robuste que mes autres topping il restera en place longtemps.

When the digital input signal is invalid the automatic shutdown waiting time is 1 minute. The analogue signal detection is turned off by default. When this function is turned on, the automatic shutdown waiting time is 10 minutes. Topping MX5 houses multiple digital and analog input/output options including USB, Coaxial, Optical, Bluetooth, RCA, and TRS input options. It supports automatic on/off across all the input options. When a valid signal is detected the MX5 gets automatically turned on. When the valid signal is lost the device automatically goes into the Standby mode. With the help of Infineon Merus Class D amplifier, MX5 can output 70W x2 under 4 Ohms load 10% distortion, 55W x2 under 4 ohm load 1% distortion. Under 8 Ohm load, 10% distortion can output 42W x2, and 1% distortion can output 35W x2, which can meet daily use. MX5’s screen can be set to automatically close and only display the current input without any operation for 30 seconds.

Full connectivity & Auto On/Off

Je l'ai utilisée une journée complète, il est légèrement tiède, sa coque est entièrement ajourée (attention aux liquides !). MX5 has two memories for remembering your custom settings. Users can store the information such as current input selection, output selection, volume setting, bass/treble EQ settings, and gain settings. Features Topping MX5 houses multiple digital and analog input/output options including USB, Coaxial, Optical, Bluetooth, RCA, and TRS input options. It supports automatic on/off across all the input options. When a valid signal is detected the MX5 gets automatically turned on. When the valid signal is lost the device automatically goes into the Standby mode(within a desired amount of time). Built-in Eq Option:-
