But the store-bought bottles are sugary and often contain artificial flavors and corn syrup. If you’ve ever tried to stir sugar into a cold drink, you’ve probably noticed your ice melts faster than the sugar. Simple syrup is the easy solution— hardly any stirring is required! Elevating your simple black coffee with salted caramel syrup

Potency may not be high on your list of criteria when choosing a coffee syrup, but it was on ours when we conducted our taste tests for our review. When adding syrups to your coffee, you expect great taste. You want this taste without needing to add ¼ of a bottle to achieve it. If you try coffee syrups and find yourself needing to add large amounts to get your desired flavor, that may not be the brand for you. You may simply be a fan of the sweeter things in life, but still, coffee syrups should change the taste of your coffee and outlast more than a couple of cups of coffee. Ingredients As soon as the caramel syrup turns an amber color, remove it from the heat immediately. It will still cook a little more after you remove it from the heat, which makes it that much easier to burn. Once it’s burnt, you can’t save it and you’ll have to start over. (Ask me how I know!) On one hand, people are naturally drawn to sweet stuff because it provides pleasure and comfort. On the other, salt is just simply enjoyable (as long as you don’t go crazy with it) because it enhances the flavor of almost anything edible. I also recommend wearing oven mitts just in case there is extra splatter because it will splatter some. TIP: To make espresso, only pull two shots of espresso, then use 3/4, not 1/4 cup of whole milk. If you are making strong coffee, grind 2-3 tablespoons of whole coffee beans using a burr grinder and brew a strong cup of coffee using any of the brewers.

Ah, let me count the ways to use this incredible syrup. Of course, it’s mainly for drinks but there are a few unexpected ways you can use it, too! I am pretty sure you’ve heard of salted caramel coffee before. And if for some reason, you haven’t tried it ever, you’re probably pretty curious that you want to try it for yourself at home. If you’re keeping a keto diet, I recommend this syrup. This way, you can still enjoy salted caramel coffee and other drinks guilt-free. This syrup tastes very much like your favorite caramel sauce, only in syrup form! It’s so easy to add to your favorite beverages in the Summer (iced tea, too!) and Winter (salted caramel hot cocoa, whatttt??!!).

When the syrup is almost done, heat the remaining water and set aside. I do this in the microwave using a glass measuring cup. There are different options for coffees to use. As we mentioned, the best way to make this drink is to use the cold brew method. But you can also use strong coffee from any coffee machine like the Moka pot, then allow it to cool down.
