Description

The entire mouse has but one RGB LED zone, and that’s the Cooler Master emblem here on the rear side of the mouse. It’s not particularly bright and vibrant, which is somewhat of a bummer to an RGB enthusiast like yours truly, and I was also expecting Cooler Master to light up the Cooler Master MM731’s scroll wheel. Well, I guess this mouse is meant for the gamers where every gram matters, and more LEDs just doesn’t make sense in a design like this. Specifications Body material Overall, I would hypothesize that if you had slightly smaller hands with similarly shorter fingers and larger palms like me, or if you had similar size hands but with smaller palms and longer fingers, the MM731 could be a good fit. It would also work if you happen to like curling your fingers more than I do. the software is the same as the other mm mouse, no change but still freeze at boot sometime and still feels as unfinished as ever ....

in wireless mode the mouse feeling was not great... the latency of the mouse was changing depending of the firmware version. After both the mouse and dongle firmware are updated, you can confirm the firmware version has been updated. Now the MM731 firmware update is fully completed and your MM731 is ready for normal use. The weight is one of the best you can get with very few rivals in it's range they say it's like 48 grams which is about as light as mice get. The feet glide really nice. The cable is one of the best you can get and is super flexible, and The 3389 sensor is top of the line. lkv2 switches have the same shape as razer optical switches and are not soldered, if you are interested to switch them.only the left button has some post travel.

User Experience

I think the logo placement on the mouse is horrible. The curvature of the mouse does not do it justice, I get they wanted to implement RGB into the mouse and have their branding. I think the CM logo should have been on the side of the mouse or on the left or right buttons. this is the strong point of this mouse, the shape is kinda similar as the ninjustuo origin x i reviewed earlier. so a smaller intellimouse pro kind of shape. Battery life is rated at 72 hours on 2.4GHz, sans RGB, but I managed to use it for just over two weeks before the battery hit 15%, even with the lighting enabled. Of course I wasn’t using it for two weeks straight, with the usual eight hours of sleep, few hours of breaks in between, like a normal person would use their mouse. One thing that I hope Cooler Master can improve however is to be able to see the exact percentage of battery, as the current way that it is shown in the MasterPlus software is just with a battery bar. I guess they thought since Apple can get away with it on the iPhone, they can too on the Cooler Master MM731? After the mouse FW is updated, it will show the following window to start the dongle FW update and update automatically. usb c cable and adapter, a wireless dongle ,the usual paperwork and some spare feet with alcohol wipes.

Open the MasterPlus+ software, it will automatically read the current FW version of the MM731 and pop out to tell you to update the FW.The shape is fantastic for claw grip (19.5 x 10.5 cm hands), super comfortable and has no holes (some of the holes on the right side of the MM720 and top would poke into my skin when I gripped the mouse super hard). I can play with this shape for hours on end with no fatigue at all Speaking of the software, MasterPlus is a neat little bit of software that supports most of Cooler Master’s ecosystem, from their RGB controllers to their more recent peripherals. For the Cooler Master MM731, you get to adjust the sleep mode delay, the low power mode notification, button assignment, sensitivity, lighting as well as the macro programming and on-board profile. There are five on-board profiles that you can create, which should be sufficient for most users anyway. Cooler Master also baked in the combo feature which lets you add a second layer to your mouse if you need to practically double the buttons/hotkeys available to you on the Cooler Master MM731. Conclusion Firmware for the mouse and dongle was easy to update to the latest firmware so there is no noticeable lag. Please charge your mouse for at least 2 hours before using for the first time to ensure optimal battery usage. Please do not close the MaseterPlus+ and follow the instructions show on windows to update the firmware again. STEP 1

I plugged the dongle into a USB port on my PC, opened MasterPlus+ software, and it shows “no compatible device supported.” What should I do? Having owned and tested many different gaming mice. This is one of the best mice on the market, but in my experience, the shape needs improvement. Finally, because the mouse is intended to give decent palm support while being so tilted, the mouse's hump flares outward all the way to the bottom of the mouse -- it doesn't roll inward at the bottom like a Vaxee Outset, for example. This means that while using the mouse, I would find the skin at the base of my palm being pinched while trying to pull the mouse into my grip (for example, when trying to control significant recoil without moving my arm).Testing is restricted to 2.4 GHz mode as Bluetooth is not suitable for non-casual gaming applications. from firmware bugs slowing down the mouse reaction time, or bugs destroying the polling rate,or the software not detecting the mouse anymore,
