Description

If you were to take the two main components of this chocolate bar apart, that is the fondant center on one side and the slightly bitter chocolate on the other, you would probably not enjoy neither one thing or another. Put them together, and you have Fry's Chocolate Cream, one of the most delicious chocolate bars available. Its success is quite a mystery, but it has been on the market since 1866! Incredibly, it's still a UK favourite. Creamy and satisfying, there is nothing quite like it. The product features rich dark chocolate with a smooth fondant center and is suitable for vegetarians. To allow you to tell your friends about your favourite products we have also added Facebook, Tweet and pin it buttons to make this easier for you. Cadbury also produced a solid milk chocolate bar called Five Boys using the Fry's trademark from 1902 until 1976. Cadbury produced milk and plain chocolate sandwich bars under the Fry's branding also.

In 1847, the British chocolate company Fry & Sons prepared the first chocolate bars (solid chocolate for eating) by mixing cocoa powder, sugar, and cocoa butter (instead of water) Chrystal, Paul (18 October 2011). The Fry's chocolate bar was first produced in Union Street, Bristol, England in 1866, where the family name had been associated with chocolate making since c. 1761. In 1923, Fry's (now Cadbury) chocolate factory moved to Somerdale Garden City, Keynsham, England. This gift ended up being more than I bargained for because he was almost overcome with joy as he had loved them in the past and had no idea you could still get them!

The original Fry's Chocolate Cream chocolate bar consisted of a plain fondant centre enrobed in plain chocolate. Variants include Peppermint Cream, Orange Cream, Raspberry Cream and Strawberry Cream. The Fry’s Chocolate Cream was the first chocolate confectionery ever to be made on a factory scale, so as such is the granddaddy of all chocolate bars. The tagline is “dark chocolate with fondant centre”, which to be honest, I’ve always considered to be fairly poor and unenticing description. Not that I could tell you a better one.

I added one as a cheeky 'bits and bobs' gift for my partner as it was on offer, and I know he's loved Fry's 5 Centres in the past, plus with raspberry being one of his favourite flavours, I thought I'd surprise him (thinking it was a more recent flavour).

In 2022 the original milk free recipe, which had previously been suitable for vegans, was abandoned with the inclusion of skimmed milk powder in the list of ingredients. TL;DR - It's a Fry's chocolate cream in RASPBERRY, (plus they've always been vegan), what's not to love?! Fry's chocolate cream is one of the few chocolate bars what hasn't lost it's original taste over the year. , lovely plain chocolate with cream mint filling , delicious ! Will always be one of my favourites and will continue to to buy this product for years to come . The price is very reasonable for the high standard of chocolate , lovely.
