Thomas, Sophie (20 September 2022). "Laura Whitmore and Matt Willis to star in '2:22 - A Ghost Story' ". London Theatre . Retrieved 23 July 2023. Do not be fooled by any review that gives it more than one star, it was, by far, the worse production I have ever seen. I tried to think of one positive aspect of the night and I couldn't. Recently, Felton returned to Los Angeles for a holiday, and ended up taking a trip to California’s Harry Potter theme park. “I was just indulging myself,” he says, “and my mates had never been.” Felton saw a young girl having the time of her life, tears of joy and everything. “At the end I couldn’t help but go up to her, take off my hat, and tell her I’d see her in the Slytherin Common Room. Seeing her face light up? I’ll never get bored of how happy it makes people.” Danny’s play is a brilliant investigation into the ghosts that haunt us and the how’s and why's they come to be. It’s everything I love; wit, a meditation on marriage and relationships and family all hinging on a frightening plot. Matthew is an amazing director who has worked with some of the coolest material theatre has to offer. I'm a fan of what he does, and so honoured that he asked me to come on board" ~ Llly Allen

It’s been more than 10 years since the last Harry Potter film was released, but their popularity shows no signs of abating. For anyone connected with the franchise, life on set – and the experience of being part of its huge, unparalleled success – remains a constant topic of fascination to an ever-growing fandom around the globe. I’d expected Felton to find talk of the wizarding world rather frustrating, certainly tedious. He started making them while a fresh-faced child and he’s now in his mid-30s; the auditions were well over 20 years ago. I assumed he’d quite like to move on now, thanks very much. Felton, however, seems thrilled to discuss it. He’s at his most animated when talking Potter, bringing it up repeatedly of his own accord. No doubt he’s also grateful to be distracted from the stress of rehearsals. Jenny and her husband Sam have recently bought a large house in Greater London that they are renovating. For several nights, at exactly 2:22 am, Jenny hears the sound of someone moving around the house and a man's voice crying, via the baby monitor in her daughter's bedroom, and becomes convinced the house is haunted. Sam, being a sceptic and having been away on a work trip, insists there are more logical explanations for the noises. The couple hosts a dinner party for Lauren, an old university friend of Sam's, and Ben, her new boyfriend who has a belief in the supernatural. After discussing the strange noises, Jenny persuades the others to stay up until 2:22am to see what happens. [22] [23] Wood, Alex (29 March 2022). "Tom Felton, Mandip Gill, Beatriz Romilly and Sam Swainsbury cast in 2:22 A Ghost Story West End return". WhatsOnStage.com . Retrieved 23 July 2023. The cast were delightful in this 3rd incarnation of the play, each fitting their character well. The set is beautiful, simple, but very much part of the story. The character of Ben is there mostly for two reasons, firstly to move the story along, as the “stranger” he creates a lot of the exposition for the audience. Secondly, he has pretty much every comedic line in the show.

On 10 February 2023, it was announced that the play will embark on a UK tour starting at the Theatre Royal, Bath on 1 September with dates until May 2024. [15]The tour cast includes Joe Absolom as Ben, Charlene Boyd as Lauren, Nathanial Curtis as Sam, and Louisa Lytton as Jenny until 2 December. From 5 January 2024 the cast will feature Vera Chok as Lauren, Jay McGuiness as Ben, George Rainsford as Sam and Fiona Wade as Jenny. [16] Australia (2023) [ edit ] It turns out Robins had a lot to say and his love for the supernatural was a perfect conduit for him. In 2017 he created the podcast “Haunted,” followed by several others including “The Battlesea Poltergeist” with Toby Jones and his latest, “The Witch Farm,” with Joseph Fiennes. The podcasts all became wildly popular at the same time he was working on “2:22.” Or as Robins puts it, “It all came to fruition at the same time in a frenzy of ghostliness.” While the cast is small, Jenny ( Winstone) leads the narrative and tells it so grippingly, that it almost feels awkward. So much so, that you feel as though you're watching her tell the story through her kitchen window. She's passionate, believable, and what I love most about the character of Jenny, is that she's relatable. Sam ( Samuel) has an air of arrogance around him which he plays extremely well, and his comedic timing was amazing. provides rich opportunities for any drama group wanting to make things go bump in the night – and their audiences scream.

I'd get freaked out here, alone in the dark. Wondering what's lurking at the bottom of the bed, ready to grab your feet' Spine-chilling, funny and scary, Danny Robins' play 2:22 was premiered at the Noël Coward Theatre in London's West End in August 2021, directed by Matthew Dunster, and starring Lily Allen, Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood. The plot of the play revolves around Sam, an astronomer and know-it-all – played by Elliot Cowan (who is likeable/unlikeable and a bit annoying!) Sam believes he has the answer to everything, specifically in the plot of the play as we are talking about the existence of ghosts: Sam does not believe in them. Originally produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runway Entertainment,Isobel David and Kater Gordon.
