Description

The tool-free templet guide adapter allows quick changes and both bases feature the Bosch exclusive precision centering design for centering optional templet guides. The other thing I have found very useful with this Bosch model is the accessory template guide adapter and templates. Excelente, en lo personal me llegó antes de tiempo muy bien empacado con todos sus accesorios se ve de muy buena calidad lo usé solo una vez apenas pero se siente muy bien y por el precio me parece perfecto. Constant response circuitry, the router will maintain a constant speed throughout the cut, resulting in clean, accurate product.

To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual. I got the VS Milwaukee mainly because of the soft start and theirs is pretty nice compared to the Bosch. i got a bargain with this one even with cost of post and import duty, i still consider this to be top value. While building, I realized that the router base needed to be propped up so that it's "level" once the whole thing is assembled. It's casing is well machined, and while that has little bearing on it's overall performance, it is a sign that the unit is quality manufactured. Additionally, the Porter Cable jig I am looking at has guides that will fit the Dewalt but from other forums, not the Bosch directly.

My only complaint is that you cannot leave the guide locking screws in the fixed base of the router when storing in the case. The router's voltage is 120volts and the frequency is 60Hz where as in Ireland our voltage is 230volts and the frequency is 50Hz so the appliance won't work properly in Ireland. So I have been using the Dewalt router, and I must admit I am not very happy with it for a couple of reasons. It has the power switch in the one knob and is very helpful for keeping balance when turning on the power. At this time, I'm not in a position to acquire any of the Festool router and I really like my Bosch 1617. Here, on this project, I'm working with 1-1/4" maple ply and 1-1/2" maple ply, and doing cuts between 1" and 1-1/4". I can’t get the depth of the bit to be exactly what I want unless I DON’T use the fine adjustment feature of the router.

It may be that Bosch corrected the issues with bit wander mentioned previously, but I've had no such issue. Variable speed dial, soft-start, maintains constant speed under load, quick clamp system on both bases, includes fixed base with system for adjusting bit height from above a router table, precision centering makes it easy to keep bit on intended cutline when using jigs, templates, dovetail fixtures and similar guidance devices, fixed base has threaded holes for mounting to router table positioned in Bosch 4-hole pattern and common 3-hole pattern, microfine, bit, depth adjustment system on both bases, wide base openings and 2inch sub-base openings and provides better visibility, right or left. The motor is also heavy, which when combined with either base, gives you excellent stability and control for even high tolerance cuts. Want the best of both worlds, then this kit is for you - It includes both the fixed-base and the plunge router. determined through reviews on this site as well as other reviews that the bosch was the router that I wanted after the first day, but decided to wait and read through some more reviews.I am not a hardcore woodworker, but routing is something that cannot be done by hand and the few times that I may use it you need the right equipment; it's value is immeasureable. What I find the fixed base configuration useful for is trim functions using follower bits of various types- from setting the rebate for a high frequency driver after boring the original hole with a Forstner bit, or trimming a side or inner route flush using a 1/2" shear trim bit. It also has a myriad of special function accessories available and featuresc compatibility with Festool and several other brands of track-saw tracks.

I had this router and sold it because I would fight with it to get the motor in and out of the fixed base. not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I think I want to try and see if that'll help it glide along with the rest of the mechanism).Quote from: Dick Mahany on January 21, 2016, 04:26 PM Has anyone mounted a Bosch 1617 plunge router to the LR32 guide rail mounting plate? Bosch’s bearings aren’t as good either unless you rebuild with quality SKF high speed bearings like I did with mine.
