Description

The first introduces Bad Nana, the second is an adventure in the park, and the third is a trip to the local history Museum. Bad Nana always dresses in black, from the top of her head to the tip of her shoes and on super-special occasions she adds a sparkly pink turban. Lite som böckerna om Frallan av Sara Ohlsson och Lisen Adbåge men här är mormodern lite mer galen än i Frallanböckerna. Most importantly, we are introduced to Bad Nana (not her actual name, but no one can remember that) who likes a little bit of twinkle, copious amounts of lemon sherbets, and has a pink cat.

The kid is trying to tell you about their grandma and while the author is trying to assume the voice of the child perhaps they try a little too hard to ramble in about nothing. Each chapter reads as a short standalone adventure of Nana's mischievous behaviour; perfect for children starting to read on their own, or as a class shared read or bedtime story to chuckle over. You guys were so fab and Dawn was such a lovely presence in the schools - I will absolutely be in touch next time I'm in your neck of the woods. Este é o segundo livro que estou a ler da série "Oma Knetter", sendo que li o segundo volume primeiro. On more than one occasion, I was reminded of my Nana (mainly because of the ginormous handbag containing everything including the kitchen sink!Hotjar sets this cookie to know whether a user is included in the data sampling defined by the site's daily session limit. Whilst the first chapter delves into Jeanie’s family, friends and lots of fab details about her Bad Nana, chapter 2 ‘Park Life’ is where Sophy Henn shows us what Nana is really made of. We hebben deze boeken voorgelezen aan onze dochter van acht, maar ze had ze ook prima zelf kunnen lezen. In this vibrant new illustrated series by Sophy Henn, readers are introduced to Jeanie and her very large family, including a rather naughty nanny.

The book is separated into mini stories about Jeanie and her Nana getting into trouble and out of it again. Henn packs a lot of emotion into this chapter, we really feel for the characters as they tiptoe around the museum trying to avoid the grumpy museum man, and then there’s poor Lydia. Children of all ages could enjoy this book, but it is particularly suited to children around the same age as Jeanie.

It's still great for some giggles, especially if this book was read by a grandparent to their grandchild. My Experience: I started reading Bad Nana: Older Not Wiser on 3/23/2021 and finished it on 3/24/2021. I have even talked the head into a little revamp of the library so that we can display them properly!

Bad Nana is the unstoppable character taking centre stage in this fabulous new series of illustrated younger fiction from Sophy Henn. Bad Nana is a deliciously wicked new series for ages six and up, told through the eyes of 8-year-old Jeanie; from Sophy Henn, the creator of Where Bear?was shortlisted for the AOI Illustration Awards 2014 and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2015. Bad Nana decided to take actions against the rules by using something in her purse while Jeanie and Jack kept a lookout for the park keeper.
