When one of her favorite anime characters is killed off, Kae is so shocked that she locks herself in her room for a whole week. Serinuma Kae is a chubby second-year high schooler and an avid fujoshi who secretly ships her classmates, Igarashi-kun and Nanashima-kun. Publishers Weekly stated that the work is "a well-played farce filled with both laughter and empathy, no doubt helped by the author's background in yaoi. The series does not take itself too seriously and definitely has a large amount of fanservice (which I think is always nice). It's very satisfying to see all these characters grow, both as individuals and together as a group of friends.

The manga skillfully combines comedy, romance, and otaku culture, offering a refreshing and enjoyable perspective on the reverse harem genre. As long as you're going into this hoping for a laugh, not expecting things to make much sense, and just. The MC is a fujoshi (aka the mangaka's fanbase) who suddenly finds herself quite beautiful, and attracts the attention of four of her male classmates. The boys struggle because of her changing appearance and weird interests (BL) but will realize that these things are merely trivial when caring about a person. Except for Nanashima and Shinomiya, the rest were the top contenders for Serinuma's affection and for the right reasons. The boys arrive to rescue her, and when the fight becomes violent, Kae urges them to stop, explaining that she is not used to having so much attention.

She loves "beautiful things", she's also a doujinshi artist and becomes one of Serinuma's best friends. What drew me into this manga was I guess all the fangirling the main character did in the first chapter.Originally titled Boys, Please Kiss Him Instead of Me in Japan, the manga is written and illustrated by Junko. All in all, the treatment and presentation of her relationship with the other characters is very, very promising.

Serinuma is quirky and sweet, the boys are so different in their ways to get closer to Serinuma, it was great having the one on one interactions, but even better was them as a group and seeing them clash and get used to having each other around. On the first day of practice, Nozomu comes down with a cold, so Kae comes over to his house to look after him. Sure you can see that the boys might fit into specific character personalities and most of them were first attracted to the girl by her looks, but that doesn't mean they're shallow! The mangaka can draw people splendidly; she also wonderfully avoids the trap so many BL artists make when they try to draw women and end up with boys in wigs. Art: 7/10 - Again, art is very standard shoujo - it's not going to take your breath away, but it's not badly drawn either. As of now only 2 english chapters are out (3rd is in chinese), so there's not much, but I still want to review it. There are some moments in the story when she gets back to being fat (for whatever reason) and these same characters are the first ones to find a way to make her thin again as if she's only attractive when she's in a fitting form. Readers can anticipate a delightful and lighthearted narrative featuring humorous situations, charming characters, and unexpected plot twists. There aren't many reverse-harems in circulation, and those that are around usually don't reach for new heights. and also while not understanding her otaku/fujoshi hobbies, still tried their best to support her (even if it resulted in her imagining them in various BL situations) and accept her, though it can be argued in the beginning was them trying to win her favour.
