Description

Children will need to decide which is better, making sure to look carefully for features of a non-chronological report. His first attempt results in a bump on the head and Max starts to muddle up his words and loses his direction. Max is a hedgehog who lives with his family in a nice little home, but it's on the wrong side of the road from the Park where there's a beautiful lily pond and plenty of juicy slugs, worms and snails!

The main problem to the adult mind is the idea of hedgehogs trying to figure out a road safety plan. The processes Max goes through to find a safe way to cross the road means that the reader is introduced to several different road safety issues and different kinds of crossings.

This vocabulary and punctuation also allows for children to develop their understanding of how they can read with expression through roleplay and drama. King-Smith also uses the fact that Max is a hedgehog to be able to describe human objects in an unfamiliar way. The main character in the Hodgeheg is Max and he says mistakes because he got bumped on the head by a bicycle. Story about two hedgehogs that had babies - Max wanted to be the first hedgehog to cross the road, but he got run over on his head and was saying his sentences the wrong way round. The things I liked about the story are funny things that Max says like, “ the lolly pop lady is a witch with a magic wand that makes the cars stop”.

The Hodgeheg’ is the story of Max, a young hedgehog who wants to play in the park; his only obstacle is a busy road. The slides will remind children of the features of a non-chronological report and discuss what they need to include in their plan. In the final lesson in this six-part series, your class will be writing non-chronological reports on hedgehogs, based on the plan they created in the previous lesson. Firstly, children will look at how using a range of sentence openers can encourage the reader to want to find out more about the subject. He wrote around 130 children's books, which have been translated into many languages, won many awards and sold over 15 million copies worldwide. S.P, The Mousebutcher, The Merrythought, Lightning Strikes Twice, A Narrow Squeak and Under the MishMash Trees.

Now, obviously, it's a really simple and quick read -- though at least I think there are no plot holes. Please be aware that, for copyright purposes, we are unable to provide the full text for this scheme of work.

I really enjoyed this light tale for young readers, which explores the idea of a hedgehog having the intelligence to want to find a safe road crossing place for himself and his family, so they can travel safely to the local park.

Yoto says: Follow Max's journey from hedgehog to hodgeheg in this collection of stories from Dick King-Smith. After some careful detective work, Max eventually discovers the best way to cross the road - with the help of the lollipop lady, of course! Still determined to fulfil his mission, Max discovers the best way to cross the road – with the help of the lollipop lady and some careful detective work. Well, I’ll look through each one and pull ones that have deteriorated… Wow, a hedgehog, wow, this is cute!Dick lived with his wife in a small 17th-century cottage, about three miles from the house where he was born.
