Rather than pull out all the telescope gear, these binoculars do a fantastic job for planets and stars. Perhaps Celestron assume that these will be mounted on a tripod most of the time, but I think the fact that they make such good long distance terrestrial bins and you can hand hold them, means that I think they are missing a trick here.

After a few minutes I got them both sweetly in view and showing pretty easily, M81 been the easier to see out of the two, but both nicely there none the less. Rather than a ring, you turn the whole eyepiece on this Celestron, moving it in or out, but it does the same job and works well enough.Within the interferometer is a calibrated laser that is pointed through the optical test surface, then onto a high quality reference sphere, then back through the test subject then to an internal camera which gives us the measurement on the screen. Talking of accessories, the tripod adapter of which I was familiar as I studied photography years ago and using a tripod was par for the course. The soft rubber eyecups have an external diameter of 50mm, which like the rest of the binocular is larger than what you find on most standard bins. Durable aluminum construction for long-lasting performance: The sturdy aluminum build of the SkyMaster 25×70 binoculars is celebrated by users for its durability and longevity. Celestron do not state what materials they use to construct the main chassis from, but as they are exposed, it is easy to see that the bridges are made from a type of metal. At 25x magnification, the SkyMaster 25×70 binoculars allow you to discern Saturn’s rings and its largest moon, Titan; observe the phases of Venus, and, of course, reveal Jupiter’s moons and equatorial cloud belts. This material surpasses the quality of the more common BK7 prisms found in cheaper or inferior products. The higher magnifications also generally extends the near focus distance, but at 75ft, the minimum focus distance of these is better than many others in this class (see table above).

To be honest I wasn’t expecting it to be viewable above the rooftops and lower down in the murk, but these babies pulled it out of the skies still. Zane has owned over 425 telescopes, of which around 400 he has actually gotten to take out under the stars. The Skymaster series of the Celestial Astrological and Celestial Prism has marked a before and a release in the space of the space since its inception.Professional High Powered Binoculars – 20x magnification and 50mm objective lens ensures wide angles viewing from more than 1000 yards. It offers serious large aperture light gathering in an affordable and reasonably lightweight configuration. Unlike many phony reviews out there, I wrote this Celestron SkyMaster 25x70 binocular review after actually using and testing them over many days (and nights in this case), both out in the field and in my office. However, the weight of the binoculars may pose a challenge for prolonged handheld use, necessitating the use of a tripod for extended observation sessions. However having said that they do just enough and to be honest I would rather see them making cuts in this department than making more sacrifices to the quality of the actual binocular.

Apart from the bridges and a few other details, most of the exterior has a rubber armor covering it. These binoculars are designed with a durable and robust construction, ensuring longevity and optimal performance. The prisms used in all SkyMaster binoculars, as well as most high-quality binoculars, are made from BaK-4 crown glass.Celestron's SkyMaster Series of large aperture binoculars are a phenomenal value for high performance binoculars ideal for astronomical viewing or for terrestrial (land) use - especially over long distances.
