When I first finished the book, my gut was a 3-star review for 'good' but not really adding to the conversation from other treatise on productivity and focus - then, I started to experiment and implement some of the suggestions. Much of the advice regarding productivity is not new, but the authors do a good job with integrating all the general advice around a central theme. In a way it was like listening to two old friends telling you how they implemented positive changes in their lives. On average, we spend four hours watching television and another four hours staring at our smartphones per day – the equivalent of a full-time job! If it is impossible for you to find the time, fake it and bail on other meetings which are less important.

But before we get into all of that, we’d like to explain who the heck we are, why we’re so obsessed with time and energy, and how we came up with Make Time. Like the fact that my homescreen is blank makes me go, "oh, wait, maybe I don't need to go doomscroll right now. Once you've read it, a quick browse of chapter headings is enough to refresh your memory on how to stay focused.

Too often, we get bogged down in the demands of each day and struggle to find time for what really matters. Naturally, I was intrigued by an approach that would allow me to make time for the things that truly matter to me.To regain our time and pursue the activities and projects we’ve been putting on the backburner, the solution, it would seem, is simple: stop being busier than we have to be, and avoid the distractions that are whittling our days away. Well, as with vanquishing a supervillain, the answer lies in identifying the ultimate source of their superpower and taking it away from them. With new habits and new mindsets, you can stop reacting to the modern world and start actively making time for the people and activities that matter to you. I was a test reader for this book and had the chance to practice the techniques for the past 6 months. The hassle of entering your username and password will discourage you from accessing them unnecessarily.
