Experience a stunning 140cm 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) picture with multi-HDR Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support and enjoy superior fidelity thanks to the P5 Perfect Picture Engine. And they’re complemeted at the other end of the spectrum by clear and equally detailed white tones - the Philips doesn’t use one of the most recent super-bright OLED panels enjoyed by pricier 2021 models from LG and Sony, but it’s capable of punchy and convincing contrasts nevertheless. Please note your credit/debit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED until we have arranged the transfer of the TV to your chosen Electronic World branch. So while the Vivid mode is still there, for instance, to turn all of Philips' processing tools 'up to 11' for the most explosive results, there's now also a Movie mode which sees Philips turning off pretty much all of its beloved processing to deliver a more 'accurate', neutral image. Perhaps most strikingly, the OLED806 can do both in the same scene, combining natural and vivid very effectively.

All in all it’s a surprisingly spirited and expansive sound the OLED806 makes - which is just as well, because (as we mentioned) there’s no obvious way to incorporate a soundbar. The colour richness applies equally to all tones, regardless of whether they're chiefly red, green or blue. Note that unhelpfully, unlocking the 55OLED806’s full gaming features requires you to track down a specific Optimized for Gaming option in the TV’s HDMI setup menus. This is the reason you benefit from a minimum 1-year warranty with the purchase of a refurbished device at Back Market. This TV can identify and deliver even the most minor variations in tone or shading, and it can do so without getting unnatural about it.Actually, the 55OLED806 is flexible and assured enough to play perfect nicely with the Filmmaker mode’s requirements, so that it becomes just another viable option to try for different types of content. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Support for Dolby's premium sound and video formats means that the HDR content that you watch will look—and sound—glorious. However, in Vivid mode we noted that the TV briefly hit a mighty – for a “standard” OLED TV – 943 nits, before the brightness rapidly dropped off to a more typical level.

As surely as night follows day, many mainstream sets swell in the area where they keen their electronic hardware – and the OLED806 is no different. The 55OLED806 also adds HDR10+ Adaptive support to the HDR10+, Dolby Vision and Dolby Vision IQ premium HDR systems the OLED805 TVs carried last year, enabling automatic adjustment of HDR10+ content to better suite ambient light levels. Its 2021 step into this rapid OLED-driven road to recovery is the OLED806: an upper-range model which, despite costing a very reasonable sum, introduces new refinements to Philips' acclaimed picture processing system and, even better, supports more advanced gaming features than we've seen on any Philips TV before. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. Please note: Failure to produce the card and relevant ID means we are unable to release goods on collection. You should take the card you paid with, and proof of name and address details with you when you go to collect (driving license/house bill/bank statement). Especially since you can now leave Philips' Ultra Resolution feature on with good quality HD and 4K sources without it causing the picture to look gritty, harsh or unnatural. They’re reversible, so you can either have a bright shiny metal finish on display, or a darker, smokier alternative to suit your decor.

The occasional extreme bass moment can cause some distortion and even wholesale bass drop-outs, and the sound tends to only exist to the side of the screen, rather than pushing forwards into your room. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. The latter is supposed to arrive soon, however, and it's great to see that unlike Sony at the time of writing, Philips' Android/Google TV implementation is joined by Freeview Play for terrestrial catch-up. The Filmmaker Mode is the only preset that looks a little soft, since this turns off the TV's Ultra Resolution processing to maintain an 'as the director intended' look. The Philips OLED806 delivers sublime images - made to look even better thanks to its unique Ambilight proposition - and it even supports the latest gaming must-have technologies. You'll enjoy a picture that reflects the director's original intentions and experience spacious sound with real clarity and depth.
